APRIL 26TH - FINELY TUNED COWBOY DUB
Welcome to The Western Front - 120m of music, news, and views. We broadcast across the Front Range on alternate Wednesdays from 9-11 pm MT.
Audio Archive:
We're back again with another dose of audio delights for your eardrums. KGNU fell a little short during the 2006 Spring Fundraiser. So if you didn't get a chance you can still donate by calling 303.449.4885 or clicking here.
Tune in this evening for an audio journey to the Annual Piano Tuners Convention, we'll also hear a few guest sets of live electro-dub from Mc Pullish, we'll catch a conversation and live performance from Cowboy Curse, and style you out with some more free mp3s. All that plus the latest news from The BBC and Democracy Now. John Schaefer hops behind the controls to help steer us through the stratosphere.
FEATURES FOR THIS EVENING:
Cowboy Curse Performance:
Rob Bell checks in with the kids from Cowboy Curse. The gang just released its first full-length CD, Nod Up and Down, on Public Service Records. Tonight we'll hear tales of their wayward escapades as we catch up around the campfire, plus we'll get a serenade under the prairie moon and beam it out all along the range.
How To Tuna Piano:
How many piano tuners does it take to throw a really unusual convention? Tonight Joel Davis brings us this amazing report on fear and loathing at the Piano Technicians Guild. He was on location at the recent convention and has a few unique stories to share. Don't miss it.

Guest Set: McPullish:
McPullish returns to The Western Front this evening to share his audio vision of dub in a live set. His sound is heavily influenced by the Jamaican originators but is also swirling with other acoustic sounds and analog instruments. We'll be sure to ask him how he's doing it.
The Free Set:
Once again we're presenting you with another special edition of "The Free Set" - a set of music made up of free mp3s that you can download legally on the internet. This evening we've been diggin' hard to bring you a healthy pile of eclectic sounds. Check the links on the right to start filling up your coconut basket.
