DECEMBER 14TH - EARFULS OF EGGNOG
Welcome to The Western Front - 120m of music, news, and views. We broadcast across the Front Range on alternate Wednesdays from 9-11 pm MT.
Tonight we wrap up 2005's installments of The Western Front with a Holiday extravaganza. First we'll check in with John Quigley's interview with Mal Sharpe, one half of the comedy team Coyle & Sharpe. Joel Davis brings us a performance from local talent Mote. Stephen Whitehead shares a bundle of free mp3s, and Joe King steers us onto the safest lanes of the information super highway On The Internets. Plus, an installment of Celebrities At Their Worst.
All that and the latest news... Rob Bell spikes the punch bowl and takes over the sleigh. Don't miss it.
FEATURES FOR THIS EVENING:
Coyle & Sharpe:
James P. Coyle and Mal Sharpe roved the streets of San Francisco in the early sixties looking to "terrorize" people in the interest of humor. Their surreal encounters were captured on tape, then broadcast on their nightly radio show, "On The Loose." Tonight we'll listen to excerpts from a conversation with Mal Sharpe and listen to examples of their visionary comedy.
On The Internets:
Joe King is back again to take us on a tour of the web. This time he checks in with Phil Hathaway of Hoshi Motors to find out why we should spend "15 Minutes at Hoshi Motors".
Mote Performance:
Loud, fast and hard are the best three adjectives to use in describing this fun melodic trio. Ex-Baldo Rexers John Call and Ted Thacker have locked in the pure flavor of the the two minute twenty second song blast. Mote is here to spin your ears.
The Free Set:
KGNU's very own Stephen Whitehead has been looking high and low for free legal mp3s for you to dowload from the vast reaches of the world wide web. Let's listen to the sparkling goodies he's collected.
