SEPTEMBER 14TH - OMINOUS BLUBBER

Welcome to The Western Front - 120m of music, news, and views. We broadcast across the Front Range on alternate Wednesdays from 9-11 pm MT.

Like some sort of recurring nightmare of the airwaves... the Western Front is back again. And this week it's time to drop a doozer in the punch bowl. Tonight's whole lineup has us slack-jawin' jibberish... it's just that good. We've got your basic throbbing hunk of audio excitement with a band called The Omens. We've got your standard mind erasing electro-dub freak out with guest sets from McPullish. And, on a lighter note, Joe King reminds us that despite all the news of late that progress is still possible. Plus, we'll fill your social calendar and lead you to the free candy.

All that and the latest news... John Schaefer hops into the command center with a cup of cold coffee and a liscense to broadcast. 120m of radio excitement is coming your way.

FEATURES FOR THIS EVENING:

The Omens Performance:

Tonight we're joined by the supernatural indicators of future good or evil, better known as The Omens. The four piece Beat-Punk combo joins KGNU's Rob Bell for a performance and interview. Warn the neighbors in advance, the Western Front is about to get LOUD!

Guest Set: McPullish

Tune in for the sounds of wires rigged with expert precision to mood elevators and sonic expansion chambers. McPullish arrives in the KGNU studios to tug your ears to the sounds of an experimental PA. Behold the power of the electric weirdo.

The Weekender:

KGNU's own Joel Davis fills us in on the most happenin' haps happenin' this weekend. He'll chat live with organizers of the 1st International Soccer Invitational Tournament / Reggae Extravaganza - going down this Sunday September 18th in City Park. Plus, he'll clue us in on a few other dates to check off in the ol' pocket calendar.

On The Internets:

Joe King is back with another look at some websites you may have been hearing rumors about "On the Internets" and this time out it's a look at Denver's own Progress Now. Joe chats live with Deputy Director Bobby Clark, former Internet Campaign Coordinator for Howard Dean.

The Free Set

The multi-talented George Figgs gets us back in touch with the world of free music with another installment of "The Free Set" - that's right Mr. Figgs has been dangling his digital digits into the mp3 cookie jar. Looks like he's found some crunchy crispy goodies... and he's willing to share!
