AUGUST 24TH - 4TH QUARTER GROWTH ANALYSIS
Welcome to The Western Front - 120m of music, news, and views. We broadcast across the Front Range on alternate Wednesdays from 9-11 pm MT.
The Western Front is back again with another scoop of music, news, and features for your evening snack tray. Tonight we're very excited to welcome Darren Dunn of Landlordland for a complicated one-man-show performance. We'll listen in on a conversation with enchanting singer-songwriter Juana Molina. Doc Martin relocates our brains... back in time and way out west... for a Dossier on the legendary Bob Wills, and Joe King has a conversation about the women's blogging conference.
All that and the latest news... Joel Davis gets behind the oars to guide us through it all, eerily whistling "It's A Samll World After All" at the most ominous of moments. 120m of radio experimentation starts now!
FEATURES FOR THIS EVENING:
|
 |
Landlordland Performance:
Darren Dunn of Denver's very own, Landlordland joins KGNU's Rob Bell for a performance and interview. Once again the Western Front becames a launch pad for artist experimentation as Darren presents a stripped down version of Landlordland favorites by simultaneously playing drums and guitar while singing... dang, that's a coordinated kid.
|
 |
Juana Molina Interview:
KGNU's own Sam Fuqua has a conversation with Juana Molina. Juana is famous in her home country of Argentina for her work in the popular television series "Juana y sus Hermanas". In 1996, however, she abandoned her fame to explore her true love of music. We'll hear about the winding road of her reinvention. We'll also hear the new remix of her work by Four Tet.

Dossier: Bob Wills
The good doctor returns with a dose of swingin' good stuff... certain to cure what ails ya. That's right we'll check in with the original Texas playboy - it's the one and only Bob Wills. Pull off your coat and throw it in the corner, it's a dossier that's sure to make you wanna stay a little longer.

 |
On The Internets:
Joe King brings us a special interview with two members of the recent BlogHer conference. We'll hear from Amy Gahran of I, Reporter and Contentious. We'll also hear from Koan Bremner, the creator of the Multidimensional.Me weblog exploring identity in cyberspace
