APRIL 6TH - THE SECRET WORLD OF MOTHS:

Welcome to "The Western Front" - KGNU's experimental magazine show, delivering an action-packed variety of news, sounds, and a few other suprises (alternate Wednesday's from 9-11 pm) for our peeps along the Front Range.

We're back again this week with a handful of audio tricks to throw your way. First, we hit the streets to get your opinions with The Big Deal. We'll take a look at two VERY different musical duos, from the sample based compositions of Matmos to the moonshine drenched strains of Homer & Jethro. George Figgs tracks down some free tunes. Joe King makes animal noises. All that plus music the latest news and DJ sets from Joel Davis and Rob Bell.

FEATURES FOR THIS EVENING:

Matmos Interview:

KGNU News Director, Sam Fuqua, catches up with electronic duo Matmos. They've created music sampling the sounds of cosmetic surgery, crayfish nerve tissue, a caged rat, and more. Find out all about it tonight...

The Big Deal:

The Western Front crew is hitting the streets looking for your thoughts on recent events. We asked random Coloradans to pick a card from a deck loaded with questions. Here's what they had to say about the cards they drew.

The Free Set:

KGNU's own George Figgs powered up the old laptop to track down some fantastic new mp3s for our friends along The Western Front. Sit back and relax to the sounds of the free set, then grab your mouse and nab a gob of goodies.

Dossier: Homer & Jethro

Doc Martin strolls into the archives to pull out another dusty dossier. This time it's the twangified backwater world of Homer & Jethro. Tune in to hear Doc Martin unwind the twine of this very unusual musical duo.

On The Internets:

Yes, indeed, Joe King is back again to take us on a brief tour of those internets. In fact, their are rumors that this excursion will rival Mutual of Omaha's Wild Kingdom. Quack, Quack, peeps!
