MARCH 23RD - WIDOWMAKERS & TROUBADORS:

Welcome to "The Western Front" - KGNU's experimental magazine show, delivering an action-packed variety of news, sounds, and a few other suprises (alternate Wednesday's from 9-11 pm) for our peeps along the Front Range.

Once again, the ever expanding Western Front posse returns to bring you a healthy dose of music, news, and views from across the Front Range. Tonight we'll hear some selections from local dj and producer Widowmaker. Then we'll head to the streets to hear from protesters in Denver marking the anniversary of our invasion of Iraq. Joe King takes us back "On The Internets" for a taste of Flash mayhem. Joel Davis hits us with a set of free music. Rob Bell sits in with Gann Matthews for an interview and performance from this extraordinary singer songwriter. Doc Martin brings us a dossier on Bill Haley. All that plus guest sets from Stephen Whitehead. John Schaefer takes a turn at the helm... here's hoping it's a smooth ride.

FEATURES FOR THIS EVENING:

Guest DJ: Widowmaker:

Widowmaker makes his way into the KGNU studios for two live sets. In the 9 o'clock hour, it's new tracks from a some recent records he's producing, as well as some of his own original compositions. It's uptempo at 10p with new disco from NYC and weird Scissor Sisters remixes. Watch your fingers.

Gann Matthews:

Denver's own Gann Matthews joins Rob Bell in the Kabaret room for banter and live music. Word has it he'll compose a song on the spot for us. Gann has just been awarded the title of "Best Singer Songwriter" by Westword.
