JANUARY 26TH - NOT THE FIRST SHOW:

Welcome to "The Western Front" - KGNU's experimental magazine show, delivering an action-packed variety of news, sounds, and a few other suprises (from 9-11 pm) for our peeps along the Front Range.

We're at it again, another collosal shot of news and tunes for you! Tonight we'll chat a bit with some artists who've wired the planet for sound... the music of the fault lines, we'll hear an eyewitness account of the Tsunami, we'll hit Blackberries for a dose of poetry, we'll hear a performance and have a conversation with Mocean Worker. Plus the latest news, tunes, and so much more. Once again, Rob Bell is your pilot... please be sure that all seatbacks and tray tables are in their upright and locked positions... and, yes, you may have an extra bag of pretzels if you wish.

FEATURES FOR THIS EVENING:

After The Wave:

Elijah, a thirteen year old Colorado resident, went to Thailand over the holidays to visit his father. It's hard to beat Christmas in paradise, right? Then the waves came. We're very lucky to have Elijah with us to speak about his experience with the Tsunami.

Techno/Sublime:

An upcoming exhibit at the CU Art Museum explores, via a variety of digitalia, the enduring art-historical and philosophical notion of "the sublime". Museum Director Lisa Tamiris-Becker breaks it down with KGNU's Joel Davis.

Mocean Worker Performance & Interview:

Mocean Worker (aka Adam Dorn) stopped by the studio this past Sunday to play some tunes and chat with KGNU's John Schaefer about his album "Enter The MoWo!". Catch an earfull of Mocean Worker right here on The Western Front.

Inside Cafe Nuba:

KGNU's very own Brandon Carter brews up a batch of some of the best performances from Cafe Nuba. If you haven't heard, Cafe Nuba is an absolutely stunning monthly film and poetry showcase... and if you haven't heard, YOU'RE ABOUT TO!

On The Internets:

We're patrolling the 'internets' again this week for more intriguing sites. We've found some amazing ones, including the prophetic Frank Zappa on an episode of Crossfire... truly spooky. Be the first to guess this week's theme and you can win a swell prize.

Dossier: Charlie Feathers:

KGNU's very own Doc Martin opens up the dossier on the legendary Charlie Feathers. Tune in to find out about the life and times of this mostly unknown singer, guitarist, and Rockabilly King.
